In order to promote the Welsh Mountain Pony in the US this award will be available to any age or sex of pony shown in any halter, or performance class combination.  Showmanship is considered a performance class.  This award is for the PONY, so youth and adults may show the same pony. 

This award is sponsored by the “Circle of Friends of the Welsh Mountain Pony” in the United States.  This group of people wishes to promote these ponies as they are the foundation of the Welsh breed.  There has been a decline in the number of people exhibiting these lovely ponies in performance, and this is the cause for our concern.  The Section A has been the “best mount” of young riders and a wonderful harness pony in all venues, including pleasure, CDE, Roadster, Fine Harness, Carriage Driving and in some areas Draft Driving.
